“Four traits whoever possesses them is a hypocrite and whoever possesses some of them has an element of hypocrisy until he leaves it: the one who when he speaks, he lies, when he promises he breaks his promise, when he disputes he transgresses and when he makes an agreement he violates it” [Sahih Muslim and Bukhari].
Be careful, even if you/they do not become munafiqeen, it is possibly that they coukd receive the punishment of a munafiqeen from Allah Almighty because He says,
‘And incline not toward those who do wrong, lest the Fire touch you.’
[Qur'an: Surah Hud 11, verse 114]
This verse tells us that those who are not wrongdoers [zalim], sometimes fall into hell because of their friendship with those who are wrongdoers. Thus, this category of munafiqeen is not a munafiq in their faith, but friendship with munafiqeen is their habit and their recognition, and so they are counted as a category of munafiqeen.
"Indeed, the hypocrites will be in the lowest depths of the Fire."
[Qur'an: Surah An-Nisa (The Women) 4, verse 145]

"And when you see them, their forms please you, and if they speak, you listen to their speech. [They are] as if they were pieces of wood propped up - they think that every shout is against them. They are the enemy, so beware of them. May Allah destroy them; how are they deluded?"
[Qur'an: Surah Al-Munafiqun (The Hypocrites) 63, verse 4]
They portray themselves outwardly to be righteous, but inwardly they are far from the right path and wretched. They have shape but no heart. They are weak and frail, full of fear.
"And when it is said to them, 'Come, the Messenger of Allah will ask forgiveness for you,' they turn their heads aside and you see them evading while they are arrogant."

They are too arrogant and depreciate what they were invited to.
"It is all the same for them whether you ask forgiveness for them or do not ask forgiveness for them; never will Allah forgive them. Indeed, Allah does not guide the defiantly disobedient people."
[Qur'an: Surah Al-Munafiqun (The Hypocrites) 63, verse 6]

"They are the ones who say, 'Do not spend on those who are with the Messenger of Allah until they disband.' And to Allah belongs the depositories of the heavens and the earth, but the hypocrites do not understand."

[Qur'an: Surah Al-Munafiqun (The Hypocrites) 63, verse 8]
Honor belongs to Allah, His Messenger and the believers, but the hypocrites do not know this, they are ignorant.
"O you who have believed, let not your wealth and your children divert you from remembrance of Allah. And whoever does that - then those are the losers."
