"And indeed, I am Perpetual Forgiver of whoever repents and believes and does righteousness and then continues guidance."

[Qur'an: Surat Ta Ha 20, verse 82]

Allah is the One Who is the Perpetual Forgiver, Who constantly forgives and looks over faults. But He doesn't  just say in the verse above that He forgives everyone, He clearly states  that this is for those who are guided, believers and those who strive to do good and righteousness.

Allah loves it when we repent to Him, because He is the All-Merciful and loves forgiving. This does not mean that you can sin, sin and sin and each time ask for forgiveness and each time He will forgive. It is about sincerity, being sincere in your repentance and wanting to do right by not committing that same sin, we should be firm and sincere in our intentions when seeking forgiveness from Allah. That even after if we somehow made the same mistake again, Allah would want to forgive us, because we are striving to do better, seeking guidance, protection and forgiveness from the All-Mighty, All-Merciful.

Al-Afuw (The Pardoner), Al-Ghafoor (The All-Forgiving), Al-Ghaffar (The Most-Forgiving). All these names stem from the Arabic word ghafr, which means veiling and concealing.

Allah conceals and veils the parts of our body which are not pleasant to see, such as our organs etc. Could you imagine what it would be like if we could see each other's internal organs. And He adorns the body with the outward appearance, that is pleasant to look at in comparison to the inner. He also conceals our thoughts and ideas so that only He and ourselves ever know of them, again this would be very intrusive and uncomfortable if we could read each others thoughts, how considerate and Compassionate is Allah?

Allah also veils our sins, although He has the Absolute Power to reveal them to the world, He is Merciful and conceals them, not all of them but the majority of sins, until the Day of Judgement when all will be placed out in front of you to see.

"And [for] every person We have imposed his fate upon his neck, and We will produce for him on the Day of Resurrection a record which he will encounter spread open."
